地中美術館に入っていくと、コンクリートの壁で仕切られながら、真上に空が広がり、外気と触れ合って、開放感を感じる。一昨年の１２月に東京新国立美術館で安藤忠雄展を見た際に、大阪茨木の光の教会が原寸のまま、再現されていた。大きなコンクリートの壁に囲まれながら、正面の壁に縦横に開けられた十字のスリットは１２月の冴えた光を鋭く内部の床から壁にかけて取り込んで、決して閉塞感を感じさせない。安藤忠雄のコンクリートの壁は、高くそびえながら内と外の空気を循環させている。
When I enter Chichi- Art Museum, the sky spreads just above while being divided by the concrete wall, and I feel openness by touching the outside air.When I saw the Tadao Ando exhibition at National Art Center,Tokyo in December of the year before last,Church of the Light ;IBARAKI KASUGAOKA CHURCH in Osaka has been reproduced in its original size. While surrounded by a large concrete wall, the cross slit opened vertically and horizontally in the front wall captures the light from December in a sharp manner from the inner floor to the wall and never feels a sense of blockage.The concrete wall of Tadao Ando circulates air in and out while standing high.
モネです。天井からの間接光が展示空間を優しく浮かび上がらせていて、ここで見るモネの睡蓮は、絵画における中心を持たず、オールオーバーに鑑賞者を包み込み、空間そのものを演出していて、その後のインスタレーションへと結びついているように思えた。
This is the exhibition room of Monet’s water lily.The indirect light from the ceiling gently brings up the exhibition space, and the Monet’s water lily seen here has no center in the painting, wrapping the viewer all over, directing the space itself,it seemed to be connected to the installation afterward,
ここから、ジェイムズ・タレル。
直島の旅の秀逸であった。まずは暗がりの部屋に浮かんだ光の矩形が出っ張った立方体のように見え、また、減っこんだ立方体のようにも見える。部屋の反対側を見るとプロジェクターが。この錯視は私の心を光、そして瞑想の世界へ誘（いざな）った。
From here, it is an exhibition of James Turrell. It was an excellent piece of work I saw on my trip to Naoshima.First of all, the light rectangles that float in a dark room look like a cube popping out, or conversely, it looks like a cube is receding.The projector is on the other side of the room. This illusion symbolized light in my heart and brought it to the world of meditation.
まず、この展示室には５名づつしか入れないとのことで、ひとまず待っていました。そして私の番がきて、入ってみるとこの階段の青い光の作品。係員に階段を登るように言われて、五名が横並びとなり一列で登っていくと、青い光の中に入るよう指示されました。
I waited for a while, saying that only 5 people would be put in this room.And when I get in, I get a piece of blue light above this staircase.The clerk told me to climb the stairs, and when the five persons were lined up in a row, they were instructed to enter the blue light.
そうして入っていくと、奥の正面向かって緩やかな傾斜で下がっていき、真ん中あたりでこれまた横並びで立つように指示されました。しばらくすると、視界全体がピンク一色に染まりました。そして、正面を見続けると、そのピンクが微妙に明るくなったり。変化がゆっくりで、自覚するのに時間がかかります。それは、朝焼けがゆっくり街と私たちを包み、気がついたら光りに包まれているような。いつのまにか、懐かしいのに新鮮で、タレルの世界に静かに染められていきました。私の体の肌全てに、嫌な刺激とかではなく、爽やかに電流が走ったようでした。思わず後ろをみると、開口部の周辺にLEDライトがずらりと並んでいて、タレルの演出をコンピューター制御していました。
When I came in, we was instructed to go down a gentle slope towards the wall at the back of the room,the and again,I lined up in a row around the middle. After a while, the field of my vision was all pink.After a while, the view was dyed in pink. And if I keep looking at the front, the pink will become slightly brighter. The change is slow and takes time to notice.It seems that the morning glow slowly wraps around the city and us, and when we notice it, it is covered in light. Before long, I was nostalgic, fresh and quietly dyed in the world of Tarrell.It seemed that the current flowed fresh to all skins of my body, not unpleasant stimuli.Involuntarily looking at the back, the LED lights were lined up in a triple row around the opening, and the direction of the tarrell was controlled by the computer.
そしてもう一つ奥の部屋に入ると、部屋の周りをぐるりとベンチが取り囲み、天井の真ん中が抜けていて、空の青さが目に染みます。地中美術館の屋根を透過して、地中の展示室に光が差してくる、空がキャンバスとなっています。
The blue of the sky is noticeable to the eye.Through the roof of Chichu-Art-useum, light comes into the underground exhibition room, the sky is a canvas.
映像で見るニューメキシコシティーの作品「ライトニング・フィールド」には、そのスケールの大きさで圧倒されます。しかし、脱美術館の代表作家であるウォルター・デ・マリアの作品を美術館屋内で展示することはとても難しいと思いました。
I am overwhelmed by the size of the scale of the work named “Lightning Field” of New Mexico City seen in the image.However, I thought that it would be very difficult to exhibit the works of Walter de Maria, a leading artist of Land Art, in the museum.
